FAQ
- If I haven’t got a 2.1 degree, can I still apply?
- To join one of our graduate or placement schemes (exluding Pharmacy Pre-Registration) we require an undergraduate degree at 2.1 or above. However, joining one of these schemes is just one way of starting your career with Sainsbury’s, so to find other opportunities that may suit go to the Careers section at www.sainsburys.co.uk.
- If I’m successful when can I expect to start work?
- Graduate schemes and one-year placements will commence in September 2010. Summer placements will take place from July – August 2010. Pharmacy Pre-Registration placements will commence July 2011.
- I don’t have a visa to work in the UK. Will Sainsbury’s support me in my application?
- Sainsbury’s is only in the position of accepting applications from resident workers, and those overseas nationals that can prove their ability to work within the UK by obtaining a Tier One Work Permit. You will be required to provide your original passport, or other original documentation proving your eligibility to work in the UK, if you are successful in obtain a position with us.
- Where could I be working for my store placement?
- All Store Support Centre (both London and Coventry) and Logistics schemes begin with a placement in one of our stores to ensure you gain a real understanding of our customer’s needs and how your role can make a difference. For graduates based in our London Store Support Centre and Logistics, your placement will be based in a store within London. For graduates based in Coventry, your placement will take place in the Coventry area.
- I am an overseas student and am having difficulty in converting my qualifications to UK qualifications. Where can I get help?
